Celebrity hairstylist and Boston native, Traci Washington, has been a dominant force in hair design since securing a position with leading urban entertainment channel, BET (Black Entertainment Television), in 2000. An expert in the application of hair pieces and weaves; which she affectionately refers to as “personality pieces”, Traci effortlessly captures the personality and style of her clients, while accentuating their star-power. Traci’s avant-garde approach to hair application is what distinguishes her from her peers; and certifies her as a master extraordinaire at the forefront of hairstyling and hair-care management. Her client list reads as a who’s who of today’s entertainment industry. Names like, Cherish, Snoop Dog, Rocsi of “106 & Park”, Daniella & Egypt, of “Black Carpet”, America’s Next Top Model’s Toccara, model and personality, Melissa Ford and celebrity fashion stylist, June Ambrose. She also manages hair for the BET Awards, BET Hip-Hop Awards, The Five; Rip the Runway and Spring Bling. She has appeared on The Five and 106 & Park, as a commentator for their weekly makeover series sponsored by Covergirl and Maybelline.

Traci’s love affair with hair was evident early on when she would routinely orchestrate hair make-over’s with childhood friends. Inadvertently, one of these childhood friends would later play a pivotal role in her budding career. After obtaining her cosmetology license, Traci began working with major celebs such as Aaliyah and Faith Evans. Soon, Traci would receive a call from long-time childhood friend, Marie Wright (Free, formerly of 106 & Park) who requested that Traci come on as her personal full-time hairstylist. BET took notice and offered Traci an official position as Free’s hairstylist. Traci would eventually go on to become the official hairstylist for the entire network.

As an instructor for several prestigious hair conventions including, Bronner Brother Hair and the Premiere Show Group; Traci’s serious commitment to hair maintenance is paramount in her unique technique. “There is an art to weaving, “I like to blend the clients’ hair with personality pieces for a more natural finished look”. Traci also lends her expertise to several important causes including, The Youth HIV/AIDS Benefit in Washington, DC, the award-winning play, Vagina Monologues. Ms. Washington envisions one day having her own training facility where she will teach other stylists appropriate hair-care techniques, maintenance standards, styling methods, and proper hair application. Also in the works for Traci is the opening of a full service beauty spa.
